Analogy is the similarity between two things usually for the purpose of explaining the less familiar by its resemblance to the more familiar. 

Example: Finding a true soul mate is Like Finding a Needle in a Haystack

Finding a needle in a haystack is a very tedious and painful task. In fact, it is even nearly impossible but not impossible, only that the search for the needle in a haystack would take a very long time. This is very much similar to the search of our so-called another half, a true soul mate. While most of us unlucky ones have already been in a relationship that ended on bad terms and unsuccessful. But we can say that those who have found their so-called “soul mate” in a very short span of time are very lucky or, referring to the analogy, has found the needle in their haystacks faster than anybody else. 

Even though if it takes a very long time to look for the needle in the haystack, you’ll know when you finally meet your soul mate when he or she stands out from the rest when your minds are enlightened enough to see that it shines and stands out amidst all the hay that covers and surrounds it. And, when you finally see and find the needle in a haystack, all the struggles and hardships in the quest of searching the needle will definitely be worth it.
